Privacy policy

What Melly's asks you for when you order, why it is asked for, and what happens to it afterwards.

Placeholder

Placeholder text, pending client copy

The wording on this screen is a placeholder written during the build. It describes what each section of the privacy policy will cover, so the screen can be reviewed, and it is not the policy itself. Nothing here is a commitment. The text the client supplies replaces everything below before launch.

1 What this policy covers

This section will say which parts of Melly's the policy applies to: the app itself, the market, the cafe and the kitchen inside it, and every order placed through them.

2 What we collect

This section will list what you give us and what the app records on its own. The app asks for the following today.

  • Your name and phone number.
  • A delivery address, when you choose delivery instead of pickup.
  • Anything you type into a note on an order.
  • What you ordered, when, and from which of the three storefronts.
  • Basic technical details about the device the app is running on.

3 Your phone number and the one time code

Signing in works by sending a one time code to your phone.

This section will explain how long the number and the code are kept, who inside Melly's can see them, and what changes when you order as a guest instead of signing in.

4 Orders, delivery and pickup

This section will explain which parts of an order reach the shop that prepares it, and which reach the person who brings it to your door. For a pickup order it will say what the counter sees when you arrive.

5 Payment

Melly's takes cash and Whish.

This section will explain what the payment provider receives when you pay with Whish, and what the app itself records about a payment.

6 What stays on your device

Some things never leave your phone. This section will list them and say what each one is for. The app keeps three today.

  • Your cart, so it survives closing the app.
  • The language you chose.
  • Whether you dismissed the prompt to install the app.

7 Who else sees your details

This section will name the kinds of companies involved in getting an order to you, for example the payment provider and the services Melly's uses to run the app, and it will say what each one receives.

8 How long we keep it

This section will state how long each kind of detail is kept, and what is removed when you ask for your account to be closed.

9 Your choices

This section will explain how to ask for a copy of your details, how to have them corrected, and how to ask for them to be deleted, along with how long an answer takes.

10 Age

This section will state the minimum age for ordering, and how age restricted items in the market are handled.

11 Changes to this policy

This section will explain how a change is announced inside the app, so you are never left reading a version that no longer applies.

12 Contact

This section will carry the contact details for questions about privacy. Nothing is listed yet, on purpose: an address or a number invented for a placeholder is worse than a blank.
