Terms and conditions

Terms and conditions

The rules that apply when you order from Melly's market, cafe and kitchen.

Placeholder

Placeholder text, pending client copy

The wording on this screen is a placeholder written during the build. It describes what each section of the terms will cover, so the screen can be reviewed, and it is not the agreement itself. Nothing here is binding. The text the client supplies replaces everything below before launch.

1 Who these terms are between

This section will name the business behind Melly's and say that placing an order means these terms apply to it.

2 Ordering as a guest or with your phone number

Both paths are first class in the app: you can order as a guest, or sign in with a phone number and a one time code.

This section will explain what each path gives you access to, and what you are expected to keep to yourself, such as the code we send.

3 Products, prices and availability

Prices in the app are shown in US dollars.

This section will explain how prices are set, which currency is charged at the counter, what happens when an item turns out to be out of stock after you order, and how a substitution is handled.

4 Placing an order

This section will explain when an order counts as accepted, what the confirmation screen means, and up to which point an order can still be changed or cancelled.

5 Delivery and pickup

Every order is either delivered to you or collected in store.

This section will cover the delivery areas, the fee, the timing you can expect, and what happens when nobody is there to receive an order.

6 Paying

Cash and Whish are the two payment methods in the app. This section will explain when payment is taken for each one, and what happens to a Whish payment that does not go through.

7 Returns and refunds

This section will explain which items can be returned, how long you have to raise a problem with an order, and how a refund is issued for each payment method.

Fresh and prepared food will be treated differently from packaged goods.

8 Coupons and offers

This section will explain how a coupon code is applied, whether more than one can be used on the same order, and when a code stops working.

9 Age restricted items

The market carries tobacco and shisha products. This section will state the minimum age for them, and how that age is confirmed when an order is handed over.

10 Using the app properly

This section will list what is not allowed, such as placing orders you do not intend to receive, copying the catalog, and trying to reach other shoppers' details.

11 Limits of responsibility

This section carries the liability wording, and it has to come from the client's own legal advice.

Nothing is drafted here on purpose. A placeholder in this particular section is exactly the kind of sentence that gets quoted back at a business later.

12 Which law applies

This section will name the law that governs these terms, and where a dispute is settled.

13 Changes to these terms

This section will explain how a change is announced inside the app, and which version applies to an order that was already placed.

14 Contact

This section will carry the contact details for questions about an order or about these terms. Nothing is listed yet, on purpose.
